Israel Defense Force's Radio Station (Galey Zahal) - The Programs and News archive digitization

The conversion department performed the digitization of 80,000 recorded hours. The analog material was converted from ¼" magnetic tapes and audio tapes to digital format. The Metadata is managed on an information management system identical to the system used by the Radio Broadcast Archive. The digital files are stored on radio broadcasts standard format.

The Yitzhak Rabin Center - the digitization and conversion of the archive

The archive is consisted of 1500 recorded hours of  video footage and audio recordings including interviews, TV reports and movies. The Tapes were in formats of Audio Tapes,  ¼" magnetic tapes, VHS Tapes, Umatic, Digital Betacam and DVD. The Archives was converted one time for preservation purposes and another for Accessibility files to be published for the public on the center's website.

Central Library for the Blind, Israel - professional consulting

 
In the virtue of the knowledge and vast experience that Gal Kol had accumulated in the audio and sound field, professional consultancy was provided during the establishment of the Digital Library for the Blind. The project consisted of planning all digitization processes for the conversion of all audio books to digital formats.

Kibbutz Ein Harod (Ihud) - digitization and conversion of the kibbutz's archive

The conversion department digitized a total of 200 recorded hours to WAV files for preservation and to MP3 files for the use if the public. The recordings were on Audio tapes and ¼" magnetic tapes in various speeds; 30 ips on width  7 1/2 ips, 3 3/4 ips and  1 7/8 ips.

The "Khan" museum Hadera - Digitization and conversion of the museum's archive

The conversion department converted a total of 1,500 recorded hours of audio tapes, VHS tapes, S-VHS tapes, VHS-C tapes, U-matic tapes, Betacam SP tapes, Video 8 tapes, Mini DV tapes, 16 mm films and 8 mm films. The Archives was converted for preservation purposes as well as for public accessibility to the items on the museum's website.

Shlomo Gronich - digitization and conversion of the artist's personal archive

The department converted a total of 500 recorded hours to WAV and MPEG 2 files  for preservation and to MP3 and XVID files for public use. The recordings were on Audio tapes, Video tapes such as VHS S-VHS and DVD. Shlomo Gronich recorded one of his most popular recordin Gal Kol Recording Studios: "Shlomo Gronich and Sheva choir". The record was a major success. One of the records hits "Memories from Africa" was added to the record collection "World Playground: A Musical Adventure for kids" the income from the sales of the record, are donated to  UN humanitarian organizations.

Givaat Ada - Digitizaton and conversion of the municipal archive 

Our digitization department converted professional as well as private collections of videos and audio tapes. The archive is located in the local municipal and is managed through the "Dorot" Foundation. The archive includes documentation of the first settlement in Givaat Ada. The Material was converted to preservation files and access files which in the near future one will be able to view or download through the Givaal Ada website.

Agnon House Jerusalem - Digitization of the museum archive

Gal Kol performed the preservation and conversion of VHS and Audio tapes for the Agnon House in Jerusalem. The project included collection of the items, diagnose of their condition, indexing and cataloging and characterization of the Meta Data. Along with the conversion to digital media a special software was designed allowing the users and visitors of the museum access to the digital files.

Kibbutz Ramot Menashe - Digitization & conversion of testimonials from the holocaust archive
Gal Kol converted audio tapes containing Kibbutz members’ testimonials from the holocaust recorded for the next generations. The audio tapes were converted into WAV file for preservation and CDs for the public access. Gal Kol sees the preservation of such testimonials as very important to our culture and legacy and thus maintained the work on a very high quality standard.

Beit Ariela (Ariela Center – Tel Aviv) - The Archive in memory of Yehuda Gabai – Conversion and digitization
The Conversion department executed the digitization of the archive's items, located in the library of Sha'ar Zion, in the Ariela Center. The archive is consisted of audio magnetic tapes and includes old and rare recordings and documentations of plays that were produced and introduced in the 60's and 70's of the 20th century. All items were successfully converted. In addition a digital Database was designed and installed which allows easy access to the items.

Museum Beit Reshonim City of Herzelia – Conversion and digitization
Gal Kol performed the conversion and sampling of the archive items into digital files. Most of the items are documentations of testimonies of Herzelia's pioneers and founders. The archive is consists of audio tapes, video tapes, and films. The items were preserved as well. A Database, that allows an easy access to the items was designed and installed.

Katif Center - Gush Katif and Northen Samaria commemoration center
Gal Kol , company for converting video/audio tapes, converted, indexed and archived the archive of Merkaz Katif center. The project included 2,000 items; home VCR video cassettes,  professional cassettes and small cassettes. All the magnetic tapes were converted into a digital format with emphasize on quality and maintenance of the items.  The service included an implementation of file management system that assists the user to access easily the files.

Emek Izrael -Digitization and conversion of the municipal archive
Gsl Kol studios were chosen by the head of the archive and the IT department for the project of concerting and digitizing the archive of the municipality Emek Izrael. The project included converting video tapes such as U-matic, vhs , betacam and mini dv as well as magnetic tapes and reels.

Darchei horaa - Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu Kollelim -  The way to instruct Rabbi institution
We performed digitization, editing and conversion of hundreds of recordings of Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu. The recordings included video cassettes frpm various type; VHS, Betacam and DV-CAM. Kfar Yehoshua archive
Gal Kol digitization performed the conversion and digital archiving of more than 100 audio tapes. The project include: mending and repairing damaged audio tapes and reconstructing the content on them, transport of the items and indexing the items with a computerized access system.

Museum Ha'Moshava - digital conversion for the archive museum in Mazkeret Batya

Mazkeret Batya museum carried out a full digitization project for the museum archive. The archive included items such 35 MM film and negative, video cassettes and audio tapes.  The material contains testimonies of the first settlers, the Baron De Rothschild and the history of the agricultural settlement.

Israel Football Association - Digitization, backup and retrieval optic information

The IFA began digitization of its archives in the past with another company. Due to poor quality of the digitization processes and the results, they decided to work with us. Since then Gal Kol performed conversion and retrieval of thousands CD/DVDs to digital files, digitization for hundreds masters and tapes. IFA and Gal Kol are working hand in hand on this project more than 3 years now.

Maccabi World Union -  Converting analog magnetic media and restoration for optic media

Gal Kol digitization performed the conversion project for analog items to digital format. The project included the restoration of optical media and the conversion of defected CDs and DVDs to computer files such as MPEG, MP3, WAV and AMR. Among other items we converted also Umatic and Betacam tapes.
